Interesting Sponser

As I was sitting in a class that I take notes in (I work with resource students at a middle school) I was reading the back of a girls shirt from some sort of basketball camp or contest. One of the sponsers of the back of the shirt was a liquor store. Yes, the liquor store is in the town, but did it really need to sponser a middle school sports event? Couldn't they have just put the owners name? It just struck me as odd.
