Freak at Night

Last night Ayron and I were watching the news in bed and we heard a banging noise. We realized it was coming from the door by our bedroom. Keep in mind we don't use this door, and it soon will be taken out and walled up. I have crap piled in front of the door and we just basically use the little entryway as storage for now. So anyways. I start freaking out and hide under the covers, juvenile, I know, but come one. Ayron gets up, grabs a hunting knife from his closet and goes out into the hallway. He threw me the phone and then yelled, "What do you want." Some guy yells back, "The police told me to come here to get my car from FC towing." Ayron yells back (all of this yelling is because he didn't open the door) "That business hasn't been based here for years and we don't have your car." The guy then swears the cops told him to come here, and if that guy doesn't live here, then where does he live. Ayron finally convinces the guy we don't run a towing company and to get lost. The guy runs the sidewalk that runs across the front of our house and then takes off on foot back into town. Ayron called the police to inform them of the situation and that the guy was on foot and that we wanted to make sure he was off our property. Here's what is odd. We live in the "country" on a road that is dangerous enough to drive during the day, let alone walk at night in a black sweatshirt. Why did the guy come looking for his car at 11 at night? Why did he decide to bang on the door that is hidden by plants and a decorative chair? Why not go for the door by the driveway with the doorbell? The cops managed to pick him up and take him back into town, but the whole thing still kind of creeps me out...
